Questions that come up in civil disputes
Not always. A significant share of disputes are closed through a properly drafted letter, negotiation or a settlement agreement. Litigation is a tool, not a default, and we say up front whether it is worth the cost and the time.
Do not respond in anger and not orally. Collect the contract and the correspondence, check what the contract says about breach and notice, and only then send a written approach that keeps all your options open.
That depends on the court, on the complexity and on whether the parties reach agreement along the way. In the first conversation you will get a realistic estimate rather than a promise.
Do you have an open dispute?
Tell us what happened, and we will tell you whether there is a case here and what the next step is.
