Last updated: 22 September 2026
1. General
The Law Office of Leon Sverdlov, 51 Mohliver St., Yehud-Monosson (the "Firm"), is the controller of the database in which personal information collected through this website is held, within the meaning of that term under the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, as amended by Amendment No. 13. The Firm is responsible for holding, securing and using that information.
This policy explains what personal information is collected on the website, what it is used for, to whom it is disclosed, how long it is kept and what rights you have in relation to it.
The policy has been drafted in accordance with the Protection of Privacy Law and the regulations made under it, including the Protection of Privacy Regulations (Data Security), 5777-2017.
In the event of any discrepancy between the Hebrew version of this policy and its Russian and English translations, the Hebrew version prevails.
2. Professional confidentiality
Beyond the Protection of Privacy Law, the Firm is subject to duties of professional confidentiality and lawyer-client privilege under section 90 of the Israel Bar Association Law, 5721-1961. Those duties apply also to information provided in an initial enquiry that did not develop into representation; they are stricter than this policy and prevail over it.
3. Providing information is voluntary
You are under no legal obligation to provide the Firm with any information. Information submitted through the website's forms is provided voluntarily and with your consent.
However, without the details marked as mandatory, namely name and telephone number, we will not be able to contact you in reply.
The purpose of collection, how the information is held, and your rights in respect of it are set out in sections 5 and 11 below.
4. What information is collected
Information you provide on your own initiative: contact details and the content of your enquiry, as you complete them in the contact form, in the land due diligence questionnaire, or as you provide them by telephone, on WhatsApp and by email.
Given the Firm's practice areas, you may choose to include in your enquiry information of particular sensitivity, for example concerning bodily injury or estate matters. We do not request such information in the form fields, and it is held at an appropriate level of security.
Information collected automatically: while you browse, the website's hosting provider collects technical usage data, including IP address, browser type, time of visit and pages viewed, for the operation and security of the website. Under Amendment No. 13, an IP address may constitute personal information.
5. What the information is used for
Personal information is used solely for the following purposes:
- contacting you in reply and responding to your enquiry;
- an initial assessment of the matter and a conflict-of-interest check before taking it on;
- providing legal services, if a lawyer-client relationship arises;
- managing, operating and securing the website;
- complying with duties imposed on the Firm by law and by the Israel Bar's rules of professional ethics.
The Firm does not use the information for any other purpose, and does not sell or trade in it.
6. Disclosure to third parties
The Firm does not disclose personal information to third parties, save in the following cases:
- to service providers acting on the Firm's behalf and solely for the purpose of providing the service: website hosting, email services, and the service through which the website's forms are submitted. Those providers hold the information on the Firm's behalf and are required to keep it confidential and to use it only for the purpose for which it was provided;
- where required in order to handle your matter and with your consent, for example providing details to an accompanying professional;
- where the Firm is required to do so by law, under a court order, or in order to protect its rights in legal proceedings.
Some service providers hold information on servers located outside Israel. Such transfers are made in accordance with the Protection of Privacy Regulations (Transfer of Information to Databases Abroad), 5761-2001.
7. Cookies and browser storage
The website does not use tracking cookies, does not run analytics tools or advertising pixels, and does not identify you by means of cookies. Basic preferences such as interface language are stored in your browser's local storage and are not transmitted to the Firm.
The website has an accessibility menu that was built for the Firm and runs from the website's own domain. Using the menu does not transmit data to any third party.
Cookies and local storage can be blocked or deleted through your browser settings. Blocking them may impair the functioning of the website.
8. WhatsApp and telephone calls
Clicking the WhatsApp button takes you to a third-party service. The content of the correspondence and its associated data are governed by that service's privacy policy and not by this policy.
The Firm does not record telephone calls.
9. How long information is kept
An enquiry that did not develop into a matter is kept for up to 12 months from receipt and is then deleted.
Minimal identifying details, namely a name and a brief description of the matter, are kept on a long-term basis solely for the purpose of future conflict-of-interest checks. This is a professional duty, and those details are not used for any other purpose.
Archival material of a client with whom a lawyer-client relationship arose is kept for five years from the conclusion of the matter, in accordance with the Israel Bar Association Rules (Retention of Archival Material in Law Offices), 5731-1971. Before the material is destroyed, the client is offered the opportunity to take receipt of it, as those rules require.
10. Data security
The Firm takes measures to secure personal information in accordance with the Protection of Privacy Regulations (Data Security), 5777-2017, at the level of security applicable to it, including access-permission management and the documentation of security incidents.
A severe security incident will be reported to the Privacy Protection Authority as those Regulations require.
These measures cannot, however, guarantee absolute security. Communication through an online form or by email is not a secure channel, and sensitive documents or privileged material should not be sent through it. A suitable channel can be arranged with the Firm for such material.
11. Rights of access and rectification
Under section 13 of the Protection of Privacy Law, you are entitled to inspect the personal information about you held by the Firm. The Firm will respond to an access request within 30 days.
Under section 14 of the Law, if you find that the information is not correct, complete, clear or up to date, you are entitled to request its correction or deletion.
A request to delete details beyond that will be considered on its merits. The Firm will delete information that it has no legal or professional basis to continue to hold. For the avoidance of doubt, Israeli law does not confer a general right to erasure.
To make such a request: info@sverdlov.co.il, or in writing to The Law Office of Leon Sverdlov, 51 Mohliver St., Yehud-Monosson.
If you consider that your rights have been infringed, you may apply to the Privacy Protection Authority.
12. Marketing communications
The Firm does not send marketing communications. An enquiry you send through the website is used solely to respond to that enquiry.
If periodic updates are sent in future, they will be sent only to those who have given express, separate and written consent, in accordance with section 30A of the Communications Law (Telecommunications and Broadcasting), 5742-1982, and every such message will bear the word "advertisement" at its head, the Firm's details, and a simple means of unsubscribing.
13. Minors
The website is not intended for minors, and the Firm does not knowingly collect personal information about minors. If such information has been provided, you may contact the Firm and the deletion request will be dealt with.
14. Changes to this policy
The Firm may update this policy from time to time. The binding version is the one published on the website, and the date of last update appears at the top of the page.
